Custom motocross jerseys and pants: how a private-label MX kit is built
An MX kit has to look like your brand from fifty metres away and survive roost, crashes and pressure washing. Here is how jerseys and pants are constructed, and what a private-label order looks like.

In short
A custom motocross kit is a fully sublimated polyester jersey with an athletic or relaxed cut, and a pant built from 600D–1680D Cordura-type nylon with stretch panels, leather or Kevlar-type heat guards, a ratchet closure and a padded waistband. Blackthorn World makes matched jersey-and-pant sets under your brand from 50 sets per design, from about $34 per pant and $44 per set FOB.

How is a motocross jersey made?
MX jerseys are cut from moisture-wicking polyester mesh or knit, fully sublimated so the design never cracks or peels. The details that separate a race jersey from a cheap one:
- Cut — athletic (slimmer, for racers wearing body armour underneath) or relaxed (for trail and casual riders).
- Collar — low-profile ribbed or no-collar designs that do not rub against a neck brace.
- Cuffs — stretch cuffs that sit over glove cuffs without bunching.
- Elbows — abrasion-resistant panels where riders hit the ground first.
- Ventilation — laser-cut or mesh panels under the arms and down the back.
How is a motocross pant made?
| Zone | Typical material | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Main body | 600D–1680D Cordura-type nylon or polyester | Abrasion resistance |
| Knees, crotch, back of waist | Four-way stretch panels | Freedom of movement on the bike |
| Inner knee / calf | Leather or Kevlar-type heat guards | Protection from exhaust heat and grip on the bike |
| Waist | Ratchet closure, padded and silicone-lined waistband | Secure fit with knee braces |
| Liner | Mesh | Comfort and ventilation |
For enduro and off-road brands, the reinforced motocross pant adds extra abrasion zones and can take zip-off vents.
Matching jersey, pant and glove
A kit sells as a set. Because jerseys, pant graphics and MX glove backs are all printed on the same sublimation printers from the same files, colours match across the whole kit. Most brands launch with two or three colourways of one design, in adult and youth sizes.
Sizing
Jerseys run youth XS to adult 3XL; pants in waist sizes from youth 18–26 and adult 28–40. Women's cuts with different rise and hip proportions are increasingly requested.
Price, MOQ and lead time
MX pants start at about $34 FOB and complete jersey-and-pant sets at about $44, from 50 sets per design. Samples take 10–12 working days and bulk 2–3 weeks after approval. Freight, duty and taxes are extra; EU and UK importers may qualify for reduced duty under GSP+ or DCTS.
