In short

Hi-vis polo shirts are made in moisture-wicking birdseye mesh or piqué polyester in fluorescent yellow or orange, often with navy panels, segmented reflective tape and UPF sun protection. Blackthorn World makes them with your embroidered or printed logo from 100 pieces per style, from about $5 per shirt FOB.

Why hi-vis polos instead of vests?

In hot climates — the Gulf, Australia, the southern US — a vest over a shirt is one layer too many, and vests get left in vehicles. A hi-vis polo makes visibility part of the uniform itself. It also looks more professional for client-facing roles such as airport ground staff, logistics supervisors, facility teams and event crews.

Which fabric should you choose?

FabricFeel and use
Birdseye mesh polyester (~140–160 GSM)Light, wicking and fast-drying; the standard for outdoor and hot-climate work
Piqué polyester or poly-cotton (~180–200 GSM)More structured, classic polo look; better for supervisors and client-facing staff
UPF-rated fabricAdds sun protection for outdoor crews in Australia and the Gulf

Short sleeve or long sleeve?

Short sleeves are cooler and cheaper. Long sleeves protect from sun and scratches, and add visible area — which helps when a garment needs to reach a higher visibility class. Many buyers order both: long sleeve for outdoor crews, short sleeve for yard and warehouse staff, like our long-sleeve hi-vis polo and contrast-panel work polo.

Reflective tape: continuous or segmented?

Segmented (perforated or heat-transfer) tape flexes and breathes better than a solid band, which matters on a knit polo that stretches. It is the usual choice for polos. Place tape on the shoulders and around the torso; keep logos off it.

Branding options
