Private label cycling apparel manufacturer for European brands: how to choose and build a range
A cycling brand lives or dies on fit, fabric and consistency across seasons. This guide is for European brands choosing a manufacturer for jerseys, bibs, layers and gloves.

In short
European cycling brands choose a private-label manufacturer on four things: fit and pattern quality, fabric and chamois options, colour consistency between seasons, and realistic minimums. Blackthorn World makes jerseys, bib shorts, layers and gloves under your brand from 30 pieces per design (100 pairs for gloves), from about $11 per jersey FOB, with GSP+ duty access as an EU REX registered exporter.

Building a brand range, not just a kit
A club orders one design. A brand orders a range that has to work on a shop page and a retail rail: three price tiers of jersey, two of bib shorts, a gilet, a wind jacket, thermal pieces and accessories. Plan the range first, then develop the patterns once and grade them across your size run — that is what keeps fit consistent from season to season.
| Tier | Jersey | Bib shorts |
|---|---|---|
| Entry | Club fit, ~130 GSM knit | Standard Lycra-type fabric, entry chamois |
| Mid | Race fit, ~120 GSM, laser-cut cuffs | Compressive fabric, mid-density chamois, wide leg grippers |
| Premium | Aero fit, textured sleeves, pocket reinforcement | Premium compressive fabric, long-distance chamois, raw-cut hems |
What European brands ask a manufacturer
- Patterns — are patterns digital and graded, and stored for reorders? (Ours are on Gerber AccuMark.)
- Sizing — EU size runs, women's-specific patterns, and longer or shorter leg options.
- Materials — recycled polyester options, and a materials list checked against your restricted substances list (RSL); send your RSL with the tech pack.
- Labels and packaging — care labels to EU textile labelling rules in your languages, swing tags and polybags (woven labels from 500 pieces, produced with bulk).
- Audits — ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001, WRAP and SMETA/Sedex are held; buyers can audit the factory.
Matching gloves and accessories
Gloves, caps, socks and bags round out a range and raise basket value. Gloves are made in our Sialkot glove workshop with backs sublimated from the same files as the jerseys — see the glove padding guide.
Prices, minimums and lead times
Jerseys start at about $11 FOB and jersey-and-bib sets at about $22, from 30 pieces per design; gloves from about $5 per pair at 100 pairs. Samples take 10–12 working days and bulk 2–3 weeks after approval. Qualifying garments may enter the EU at reduced or zero duty under GSP+ — confirm with your customs broker.
