In short

A private-label hunting or tactical boot is defined by five choices: upper (full-grain leather, suede or Cordura-type textile), waterproofing (membrane bootie or rubber), insulation (none to 800 g synthetic), outsole (lug pattern and compound) and closure (lace or side zip). Blackthorn World supplies them through qualified footwear partners under its own quality control, from 50–100 pairs per style at an indicative $26–$55 per pair FOB.

Hunting boot or tactical boot: what is the difference?

Hunting boots are built for long, slow days in cold and wet ground: taller shafts, insulation, a waterproof membrane and an aggressive lug for mud and snow. Tactical boots are built for movement on hard surfaces and quick dressing: lighter, often a side zip, a slip-resistant outsole and a more neutral colour (black, coyote, sand). Many outdoor brands sell both from the same factory partners, because the upper materials and lasts overlap.

How much insulation does a hunting boot need?

As a rule of thumb used across the US and Nordic markets: uninsulated for early-season and warm-weather hunting, 200 g for active hunting in cool weather, 400 g for mixed walking and sitting in cold weather, and 800 g or more for stand and blind hunting in freezing conditions. Selling two insulation levels on the same upper is the simplest way to cover the season with one development.

Which tactical boot features do security and outdoor brands ask for?

What do private-label boots cost, and what is the MOQ?

Indicative FOB prices run from about $26 per pair for an 8-inch tactical boot to around $52–$55 for tall insulated hunting boots, depending on leather, membrane, insulation and outsole. The minimum is 50–100 pairs per style depending on construction, with sizes mixed. Samples take 15–20 working days, because the last and the outsole have to be matched to the design; bulk follows 2–3 weeks after sample approval.
