Private label hunting clothing: camo patterns, quiet fabrics and blaze orange for outdoor brands
Hunters judge clothing by three things: does it hide me, is it quiet, and does it keep me dry and warm while I sit still. Here is how those requirements turn into a private-label spec.

In short
A private-label hunting range is built from quiet face fabrics (brushed tricot, fleece, softshell) in your own or licensed camo pattern, with waterproof-breathable membranes for wet climates, blaze orange where the law requires it, and reinforcement at shoulders and knees. Blackthorn World makes hunting jackets, trousers, layers and accessories from 50 pieces per style, from about $28 per jacket FOB.

Camo: your own pattern or a licensed one?
Many established brands use licensed camo patterns; newer brands increasingly design their own, which avoids licence fees and becomes part of the brand. Either way, the pattern is digitally printed or sublimated onto the face fabric. Match the pattern to the habitat your customers hunt: woodland and leaf patterns for forests, open-country and rock patterns for mountains and plains (see our rock camo set), marsh and reed patterns for waterfowl.
Why fabric noise matters
A jacket that rustles spooks game at close range. Brushed polyester tricot and fleece faces are the quietest; softshell is quiet and stretchy; hard shells are the loudest unless they use a brushed or knitted face. Specify quiet fabrics on sleeves and body, where the most movement happens.
Which construction for which hunt?
| Hunt type | Typical construction |
|---|---|
| Active stalking, early season | Softshell or brushed tricot, no membrane, high breathability |
| Wet climates (UK, Nordics, Pacific NW) | Brushed face with waterproof-breathable membrane and taped seams |
| Stand and blind hunting in cold | Insulated jacket and bib, quiet face, windproof |
| Driven hunts in Europe | Blaze orange panels or full blaze jackets and hat bands |
Blaze orange rules
Many US states, Canadian provinces and European countries require a minimum area of blaze orange during firearm seasons or driven hunts. Brands selling in those markets need blaze jackets, vests and hats in the range — see our blaze orange jacket and trousers.
Details hunters notice
- Reinforced shoulders for rifle slings, like our softshell hunting jacket.
- Quiet magnetic or zip closures instead of noisy hook-and-loop.
- Large chest and cargo pockets, game-bag pockets, a hood that does not block peripheral vision.
- Knee reinforcement and articulated knees on trousers, see reinforced hunting trousers.
- A layering system — base, mid, shell — explained in our hunting clothing layering guide.
